Tenun Troso is an Original Souvenir from Jepara

Tenun Troso (Troso woven) is originally from Jepara, Tenun Troso industry based in the village Troso since 1935. The name troso is taking from the village name “TROSO” which is located around 15 kilometers to the southeast of the district hall.

Tenun Troso become a tradition in TROSO village, because it starts from one geeration and continue to the next generation.

Many products produced by artisans Troso Weaving. Among silk, prayer mats, sarongs, tablecloths, blanket, and cloth. In Bali, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB), and Lombok, tenun Troso are very familiar because tenun troso is sending to that city for distribution.

Any type of woven fabric developed from time to time. Initially, Weaving Troso only able to produce a thick woven cloth and rough. This type of weaving is only used for clothing such as scarves tied or girdle but since 1980 Weaving Troso fiber capable of producing fine cloth used as base material making clothes.

Now tenun Troso become one of destination for tourism souvenirs in Jepara beside furniture.
